We are currently seeking a Senior Solutions Architect. This role is customer facing and requires a strong technical skill set and a personality necessary to interact with customers. The goal of the solutions architect is work closely with our customers to understand their vision and then leverage the expertise within the organization to develop a solution that will meet or exceed our customer’s vision.  The solution architect becomes involved with a project at the time of inception and is involved in the functional analysis of developing the initial requirements and will remain involved throughout the life of the project.  The position requires strong leadership qualities and excellent interpersonal skills. It requires the ability to multitask and to meet deadlines.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer requirements and develop a system architecture to meet the customer’s vision.
  • Lead the development of complex, multi-unit solid oxide electrolysis and clean carbonate and solid oxide power solutions, drawing information from product management, engineering, and the customer as necessary to ensure a complete design.
  • Understand existing legislation and tax benefits for the installation of Fuel Cell Inc Solutions
  • Develop Financial Analysis to justify implementation of the developed solution.
  • Assist in the development of the customer proposal including pricing for all 3rd party equipment.
  • Assist the sales team in presenting the solution to the customer.
  • Identify and develop reference designs and standards.
  • Provide feedback on product features and priorities to product management and engineering teams.
  • Represents FCE on standards committees (IEEE, etc.) and at trade conferences.
  • Identify and document project risks.
  • Attend customer meetings and conduct site walks as necessary to define the project physical architecture across all geographies served by the Company, including U.S. and select international markets, primarily Europe and Oceana.
  • Perform dynamic modeling as required. 
  • Develop applications for new technologies as developed by FCE.
  • Support Closure of orders during the sales process.
  • Adhere to FCE’s safety policy.
  • Authors technical articles

Qualifications:

Education:  BS in Engineering with experience in energy efficiency, renewable energy, and distributed power generation applications is required. 

Experience:  1) Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated solution sales experience with technical expertise in the development, implementation, and startup of complex energy systems is required.

2) Knowledge and experience in distributed power generation, hydrogen production (electrolysis, renewable gas and non-renewable gas with carbon capture), and energy storage solutions is desired. One or more of the experiences listed is required.

Software Skills: Microsoft Project & Visio, AutoCAD, are required, Experience using dynamic modeling software (Matlab Simulink, Modelon, or equivalent) is desired.

Standards: Proficient understanding of European and/or APAC region standards is desired.

Certifications: Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and/or Renewable Energy Professional (REP); expertise in Root Cause Analysis, HAZOP, OSHA and Risk Assessments is desired.

Travel: Ability to obtain/maintain a valid passport and travel without restriction internationally is required.

 

Physical Requirements:

Office and field environment position requiring the ability to drive automobile, use a computer, and fly in planes.   Also requires walking, standing and potentially climbing at customer sites.

Up to 25% travel may be required and may involve both domestic and international travel.
