Conditioning Equipment Technician

The Conditioning Equipment Technician is responsible for supporting the final stages of the manufacturing process through fuel cell conditioning, equipment operation, shipment preparation, and maintenance activities. This position requires a high level of attention to safety, teamwork, and operational excellence. The Technician will install Fuel Cells to the balance of plant for conditioning, remove Fuel Cell following conditioning, prepare finished units for shipment, and support shipping activities. The role also includes maintaining a variety of plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
The Conditioning Equipment Technician plays a critical role in the Conditioning Department as production scales to meet growing customer demand. Technicians are responsible for supporting all module operations while also maintaining conditioning facility equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable performance. As the manufacturing plant increases output and modules are released from Final Assembly more frequently, it is essential that the Conditioning Department minimizes downtime and keeps production flowing smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Production
- Perform all required checks and line-ups prior to initiating the heat-up process.
- Work effectively in a team-based environment.
- Follow established work instructions and safety procedures to complete assigned tasks.
- Operate mobile equipment, including forklifts, boom lifts, a 60-ton overhead bridge crane, and other mechanically assisted lifting devices.
- Maintain the outdoor physical work site in a safe and orderly condition.
- Perform predictive and emergent maintenance or repairs.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be willing and able to work in both climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled environments, including outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
- Must be able and willing to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, safety shoes, hard hats, respirators, and other designated protective equipment.
- Routinely performs tasks requiring a full range of motion in both hands and arms, including circular, vertical, lateral, and overhead movements.
- Must be able to climb ladders and work at elevated heights.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous mechanical experience
Preferred
- Mechanical and Technical proficiency
- Experience with electrical systems
- Experience with rigging and crane operations
- Ability to troubleshoot complex systems
